The 2023 Toyota Tour Qualifying School Leg 1 will see 66 professionals and elite amateurs battle it out at the challenging Kelab Golf Perkhidmatan Awam course in Bukit Kiara, Kuala Lumpur.
The three-day qualifier starts tomorrow (February 21) at KGPA’s championship combination of the Hill and Lake nines. The qualifier is open to Malaysian professional golfers and Malaysian amateur golfers with handicap indices of 7.0 and below, across both genders.
The field for this week’s qualifier consists of 60 male players of whom 23 are professionals, while two of the six lady participants are professionals. Among the notable young players in the field are amateur standouts Geraldine Wong, Siti Zuilaikhaa Shaari, Umar Khushairi, Muhammad Ikhmal Basry and rising junior Aiden Kei Ahmad Shaharuddin.
Players who finish 54 holes with total scores of 15-over-par or lower will earn their tour cards for the 2023 Toyota Tour season.

The first main event of the 2023 Toyota Tour season is the Tun Ahmad Sarji Trophy, which will be played at Saujana Golf & Country Club on March 8-11. This will be followed by eight more closed tournaments including stops in Sarawak and Sabah.
The season will culminate in the RM350,000 Toyota Championship at Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club on November 14-17, which will be a co-sanctioned event with the Asian Development Tour (ADT).
The Toyota Tour brings together Malaysia’s finest players who will battle it out at the country’s top golf courses, hoping to be crowned Champion of Champions at the end of the year.

The 2023 Toyota Tour will see a minimum 10-event schedule with each tournament offering elevated prize money for both men and women professionals, while incorporating elements that enhance the tour’s connection to the amateur game.
