1957. A good year
It was the year in which Toyota decided to take to the tracks. From TRD's humble beginnings in Shibaura, Tokyo, Toyota began modifying used vehicles under its stable for race research and development. Using a Toyota Crown sedan, Toyota went on to win its first rally competition outside Japan. The rest as they say, is history.
